This strainer replaces the old and durable stainless steel Farberware block that has replaced the old aluminum and enamelled short lived blocks. The new one is well made, one of the signs is the beam welding that connects the base to the basket. Stainless steel is prone to fire, but there was no sign of burns on the welds, so both production and pre-shipment inspection are reliable on the matter. Why no fifth star? The edges of the handles were a bit sharp, not dangerous for cuts, but far from perfectly comfortable. I will acclimatize and they will smooth out over time, but attention to these details in specification, manufacture and/or testing would earn a fifth star. Yes I would buy this again.
