Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Powerful MSI Arsenal Gaming B450 TOMAHAWK MAX II Motherboard: AMD Ryzen 2ND and 3rd Gen Compatible by Rashid Vaquera

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great budget motherboard ready for 3rd Gen Ryzen!

This review is dedicated to the Welcome MSI promotion. I'm a longtime MSI fan. Right now you have an old MSI Z97 Gaming 5 cellphone, RX 580 Armor MK2, Vigor GK30 Combo, Force GC20 Gamepad, some Lucky Dolls, an MSI Headset (from one of their gift sets) along with an MSI bag. So you get the point, big fan. When I decided to upgrade my PC to Ryzen 3, it was pretty clear that my mobile device choices were limited to MSI and MSI. For about a month I read about the B450, X470 and X570 series. I'm not interested in a new chipset, so I went with the B450 Tomahawk/Mortar/Carbon Pro or x470 Carbon Pro (those were models within my budget). Checking the specs, the only advantage the Carbon models had over the Toma and Mortar was the Argb header, but that wasn't worth the price difference to me (didn't want to use WiFi, which is an advantage for the Carbon). . mobile). Because the Tomahawk received so many good reviews, it was the clear winner. I am very satisfied with the mobile device. I installed my new Ryzen 3600 and it booted up straight away. I have to admit that I updated the BIOS because I'm using an M.2 NVMe SSD and they said there were problems with older BIOS versions, but everything worked perfectly. My Ryzen runs great in the Tomahawk, hitting 4375MHz. I like the layout, 4 fan headers (alongside CPU and pump fan headers) + 2 RGB headers (works great with my fans, synced via Mystic Light). The sound was a pleasant surprise (my previous setup had a Xonar DGX sound card which I decided to keep for my kids), it didn't disappoint. The board looks solid and high quality. I absolutely LOVE the Flash Bios Button feature as it makes the mobo virtually invulnerable. In previous builds I was always afraid to update the bios, but everything is easy with this mob. The only downside, frankly, and that's just a personal preference, is the look, which is too bland for my liking. I like my Z97 Gaming 5 look with red accents all over the case and heatsinks, so this all black styling is a bit boring, not bad at all (board looks nice), but I liked MSI's black and red theme . previous generations. Overall, this is easily the best value for money Ryzen 3rd Gen right now. If you do your homework and read up on tech websites about mobile devices from different vendors, you'll see that there's no other b450 mobile device (other than MSI's own Mortar, Bazooka and Carbon Pro) with high-quality VRMs that support the new AMD processors. 100% recommended DESIGN: 5 stars --> Very good layout FEATURES: 5 stars --> in this price range realistically up to $150 (maybe more) APPEARANCE: 4 stars --> Personal taste DURABILITY: 5 stars --> This That Thing is like a tank, heavy, well built. And the Flash Bios button means you don't block it. PRICE/PERFORMANCE: 5 stars --> As I said, this is the best value for money right now, period.
