Review on ๐Ÿšด Rainproof Bicycle Saddle Bag: Ultimate Waterproof Bike Bag for Mountain and Road Cycling by Nick Winnett

Great for travel but not for hard terrain (Baja Divide)

I bought this "Budget Option" to save some money in preparation for the Baja Divide. I spent so much on all the other bags and gear I needed to pack my bikes that I wanted to ease the pain a bit. First let me say that this saddlebag survived the Baha Divide route, 1700 miles of one of the toughest rides ever. you will find it everywhere. That alone is impressive. That's why I say it's not for tough off-road use: the bag attaches to the saddle with a strap that runs through rails on the back of the seat. This strap is sewn to the top center of the bag and then slip one side over a guide and attach to the matching strap on the side of the bag, pull tight and do the same on the other side. .Now all the weight is bouncing off these stitches and they are tearing at the corners of the stitch. So now two small holes open up in the pocket. Whether you're just biking, sticking to gravel, or cruising around Europe on bike and forest trails, this bag has my full approval. Should be good. If you're into off-road bikepacking or considering the creek watershed, I'd reach for an Ortlieb saddlebag. I have traveled with a couple who have had Ortlieb bags and have been very happy with them. Hope that helps! Again, not a bad bag, just not for hardcore bikepacking as the straps are attached to the bag. Good Trip!
