If you're attaching a Fanimation fan to an existing or long pole, you'll definitely need this coupler. Delivery is very fast and when I realized I needed it I ordered it, received it the next day and installed a new fan. This thing is HEAVY. Works well, easy to install and holds up with no issues. Mounting Tip: Once the motor is ready to hang, install the hitch to the bottom bar hanging from the ceiling. At this point, only install the top bolt to hold the hitch to the lower stem. Leave the bottom screw out (but accessible nearby when you're done). Take the S-hook (I removed mine from the end of the rubber bungee strap) and hook one end of the S-hook to the short rod on the fan motor. The other end is hooked into the threaded hole of the connector. Now you can let the motor hang while you connect it. When finished, support the fan motor by removing the S-hook and inserting a connecting screw in its place. Everything is easy. Hope that helps.
