Yes, it is ROUGH

As others have said, this machine is NOT plug and play. It works so crudely (metal to metal) that it's more than just refining production oil. The machine needs to be disassembled, parts cleaned, moving metal parts smoothed (or polished), sharp edges ground down, nylon washers added and lubricated. The "white" steel parts are covered in forging marks and carbon, and the welds are incredibly poor (but strong). And while it doesn't interfere with work, it looks terrible. The number of pits on the surfaces is just amazing, as if it were a prototype not intended for mass production. The listing shows TWO clamping units on the machine, but there was only one in the kit. The green "paint" on the main body is minimal with a more exposed cast metal finish than the painted finish. If you do not prepare and paint the cast iron body, it will quickly rust. The machine sews as intended and is cheap. So if you need to do heavy stitching, you need a walking arm to get into tight spots, which a flat machine can't do. Have the dexterity to crank with your right hand while guiding the sewing part with your left hand and ready to do the preparatory work (angle grinder, dremel tool, metal files and vise are very helpful) to set the machine up for the longer fit for action, then this is the right thing for you. Anyone who wants to open the box, wipe off some oil and sew intensively will be very disappointed.
