Review on 18 TB External HDD Western Digital WD Elements Desktop, USB 3.0, black by Anand ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A wonderful product, it's nice to use.

An exceptionally good purchase. At first, I was just looking for an additional hard drive in a desktop computer, but in the end I bought this system. It turned out that this option is no worse, but something better. The device is not a very large box, which you install next to the computer on the table and connect via usb. Thus, you do not need to climb inside the computer, install a new disk, look for places for it (if, as in my case, everything is already there to the eyeballs). Accordingly, if necessary, you can disconnect the disk and install it on another computer or simply store it as an archive in a secluded place. Very comfortably. But at the same time, what fundamentally distinguished this drive from all other external drives that I had was that it had some kind of monstrous speed for such a thing. You work with it as with an almost full-fledged hard drive, and this adds even more joy. At the same time, it is worth hoping, like other products from Western Digital, this thing will work without failures for many years. What I liked a little was the power supply, combined with a plug. Not very successful in terms of the fact that it has a power supply sticking out of the socket and, despite the fact that it is not too overall, in some cases it may not be very convenient. You need to understand this when buying this device, that this is not just an external drive, but a portable external drive, more dimensional and requiring separate power supply, and albeit small, but requiring some space on the table. That is, this option is primarily for a desktop computer, and not for a portable laptop.

Pros
  • Easy to use, fast, quiet, easy to connect and work right away.
Cons
  • Not a very convenient plug for connecting to an external power supply.
