My new house had a built in HDMI cable coming from the TV but it worked not with my player blu-ray. I took it off and found it was two 6ft cables with a connector in the middle. When he looked at my TV's specs, he said that you shouldn't use a cable longer than 3 meters, about 10 feet. The 3m cable worked, but was too short. This fiber optic cable is the solution as it has built in reinforcement so 30 feet is not a problem. Note that it has an input end that goes to the Blu-Ray player and an output end that goes to the TV. Look closely at the ends, there are icons showing TV and DVD and arrows, but it doesn't say IN or OUT. It can't use ARC since it's not bi-directional, but I don't need it. I bought it for about 2/3 the regular price as it was sold "as new" and looked really new.
