    Excellent cable, good price

This is a very good long-term cable for HDMI. It's unidirectional because it's fiberglass, but that means it has excellent image quality. The connectors are metal, and the cord is fairly thin and flexible, making it easy to pull. It has a lifetime guarantee.

    • Finally bought
    Cons
    • The list will be long.

    Good for melting electronics

This cable melted one of my components. Yes, it was properly connected. I pocketed it and immediately smelled electronic doom. One of my most delicate devices (a $200 adapter) turned out to be useless. I've tried connecting the cable to other more durable devices and it didn't transfer at all.

    • Nice packaging

    • Fairly ok, but...

    A NOTICE. It's DIRECTION!

They work great. Since it's a fiber, be careful when passing it between the walls. A NOTICE! These cables are DIRECTIONAL! At each end is a very small icon, one says "SOURCE" and the other says "TV". So make sure you use the right end where it should be! There are no instructions and the text is indeed very small to see.

    Pros
    • Best in its niche
    Cons
    • Not bad but...

Nothing for tight spaces, twisting the cable breaks the image

The cable looks high-quality, it transmits the image perfectly in a direct form. However, if there is a kink (e.g. tight compression in a closet), it will not work (the image will disappear). I know it's the cable because when I unplug the receiver the cable is still connected so the image reappears on screen once the kink is gone. Frustrating problem, need to find something better for my 30ft run.

Revain Basics 100 Feet HDMI High Speed Fiber Optic Cable

4 Bought, Store Installed. full throttle on the test meter :) the jacket is quite stiff. The ends of the connector (connectors) get hot, but remember these ends are transceivers, they use power to send and receive data. the sound is great too! One of them runs a cheap projector where we replaced the original copper cable with one of Revain Basics' high speed fiber optic HDMI cables and the picture is much better. Highly recommended!

    50ft length - Does not work for 4k @ 60Hz, no ARC.

50ft cord did not work. After reading some reviews I tested this cable before installing it. I recommend you do the same. The 50ft cable will NOT work for 4k at 60Hz as advertised. Neither does ARC. However, I was able to get a quality signal for 4k @ 30Hz, if that's what you're looking for, go for it. High quality cable construction. Revain returned the money with no problems. Bought a 50ft 8k cable to hopefully get reliable 4k@60Hz with HDR and Dolby Vision.

Well you have to see things

I ran two of these cables with an amplifier. After trying many different combinations with different cables and power supplies, I came to the conclusion that either the cables are not suitable for the distance, or the repeater is not good, or the performance of the mini PC I was connected to , not enough. Needless to say I was a little upset. And then a colleague came in and looked at the cables and pointed to the screen printed ends, DOH! Quick page change and everything worked like clockwork.

    Solved 4k signal problem

I rarely write reviews but I think a lot of people have the same problem as me so thought this might help. I had signal issues with the 30ft passive HDMI going to my projector when upgrading an old AV receiver that didn't support true 4k to a newer one that did. At first I thought I might have to go the Category 5 or Category 6 route, but then I started reading about active HDMIs. I've had good luck with Revain Basics in the past, so I decided to try this particular cable. That's it, everything

    No ARC above 50 feet.

This is an excellent cable in terms of price/video quality for which I am grateful. The quality of the cable seems to be as good as the more expensive HDMI fiber optic cables I've used. I've used them at 50-100ft and unfortunately the audio return channel doesn't work beyond 50ft. The CEC control works and turns on the receiver together with the TV, but does not transmit the sound from the TV back to the receiver reliably or at all. I have to say that I am a professional audio video integrator…

30 inch cable works great with Blu-ray disc, 4K TV

My new house had a built in HDMI cable coming from the TV but it worked not with my player blu-ray. I took it off and found it was two 6ft cables with a connector in the middle. When he looked at my TV's specs, he said that you shouldn't use a cable longer than 3 meters, about 10 feet. The 3m cable worked, but was too short. This fiber optic cable is the solution as it has built in reinforcement so 30 feet is not a problem. Note that it has an input end that goes to the Blu-Ray player and an…
