Doesn't turn on after a week

The tablet was not working when it arrived. It is in order. Connect it. It doesn't register and doesn't show that it's loading. After an hour I was able to turn it on. The first time the battery died after a couple of days and now it doesn't register a charge or show it's charging and it's been plugged in for over an hour and won't turn on. i give it back
