I don't have a fenced back yard so I liked them at first. There is a walkway behind my house where people often walk their dogs. The Moi don't realize that the trail isn't their property and basically don't remember it when it comes to people walking there. They are usually friendly dogs, but I wouldn't want to be an owner who has off-leash dogs that run into someone's reactive dog on a leash. ANYWAY, these leashes were a good alternative to let her off the leash. I can attach a leash to my mix husky's cage and let her run when she's there. I couldn't do my other dog. It will pull all the mileage. I would have held his leash instead. It's so big though that when it got the zombie it jerked the leash in my hand and actually broke part of the clamp... I wouldn't recommend this for dogs over 60lbs or so.
