I wasn't expecting much from this speaker at this price point. I didn't need rich sound or powerful bass, I was just looking for something better than the sound that comes from the Mac Mini. Anyone who owns a Mac Mini knows that sound comes out of a tin can. Too bad about Apple - my iPhone has a better speaker. But I'm not writing this to ruin my Mini's speaker. I was looking for something that could improve the speaker for Zoom calls. I don't want to use my Bluetooth speakers as I can't afford lag. This speaker is very light and compact. Another nice thing is that it doesn't need an external power supply, it just plugs in via USB and that's all it takes. Now I can listen to Zoom meetings much more comfortably. So, in summary, this suits my needs, which are mostly for spoken language. If you want to listen to music, the original Anker Soundcore doesn't cost much more and can be used via Bluetooth and possibly directly from the aux port. However, be sure to check the specs. They're similar in size, but you can do a lot more with them. I just didn't want to deal with the need for a connection and didn't want to use Bluetooth for the reasons previously mentioned.
