I bought this for my office which only has a mini fridge and no ice maker. I stop by this "favorite Southern chicken place where you always love to be served" and buy a bag of fancy ice cream for about $1.50 every few days on the way to work. I keep it in an ice bucket on the counter for easy serving, and at the end of the day I put the bucket in my mini-fridge to extend the ice cream's shelf life. I can easily get 3-4 days out of a batch before it's all melted, which is better than I expected given my only experience with cheap ice buckets in hotel rooms. Having ice on hand has really helped my water intake - no more buying soda to get a cold drink at the office!
