This print server works very well for me on a mixed PC/Mac home network. The site's documentation and support is an absolute crap. I found that the device can be fully configured through a web browser. By default, it has an IP address of 192.168.1.250, so it's available at [.] on your local network. It supports Internet printing protocol, SMB, Appletalk(!), lpd, etc. With its utility, it is easy to setup for PC. Setup for MAC is also easy. Although every time I add a new Mac it takes me an hour because I forgot what I did last time. ok, finally written down. For the curious with OS X 10.4: Select IP Printing, select LPD, enter the printer's IP address, enter lpt1 for the queue (or lpt2, lpt3 depending on which printer port you are using on the device but you can confirm this by accessing the device with a browser as described above), give it a name, a location and select the driver for the type of printer connected (I have a Brother multifunction laser printer) . If you're like me, you'll have to remove and add the printer multiple times until you get it right. Once started it works like a charm --- ZERO MAINTENANCE AT ALL. I can't say the same about printing from Mac to Windows as a print server. There may be better devices on the market right now, but this is reliable.
