Be careful, they can leak!
Used these valves when installing a supply line to an ice maker from our reverse osmosis system. I closed the valve to check the plumbing as it was being installed in a wall that was about to be plastered. At first they seemed fine, but after a few hours I noticed there was moisture under the valves. Placed a jar under each valve overnight and had about 1/2 inch of water in each. So if you decide to try them because they're so cheap, be sure to check them for leaks! If you don't want to worry, buy the John Guest brand from Revain or APEC.
