Good Travel Kit - Trunk Accessory

I have a family of bikes that I carry around in a large pickup truck. Firstly, this is a good functional stand and there are a few things to keep in mind when using it. First, don't be too obvious and put your bike's front tire in a stand (and then post a photo of it). First, warm up your bike, but that should be common sense. Second, there will be bumps and turns during your ride, so your bikes need to be parked securely. You do this by inserting the REAR tire into the rack and pushing the top down onto the bar just enough to feel a slight flex in the tire, then tighten the setscrew. If you do this, your bikes should be well secured. Third, don't be afraid to use threaded bolts with attached cups to secure them as tightly as possible to the bed of your truck. To get the best fit, find out where the sides of your truck body are flattest. In my truck the best spot is where the tailgate closes and with a 6.75 inch bed I have enough room for my bikes. Finally, while I can store my bikes fairly well, I would NOT trust this. in a very short truck platform where I can't close the gate with bikes in it. When you need to keep the truck gate open while the bikes are on the rack. Find another solution to avoid losing your bike when you roll off the back of your truck. I've used this on a couple of long distance trips where my truck is towing a camper and I don't trust our bikes to have a bumper mount. The only problem I've ever had was the bare rear bike tire slipping out of the trunk. Otherwise, this is a great solution for the mountain bike family. I've also used this to transport a single bike and I would suggest you run a bungee cord around the front wheel through the seatpost to keep the front wheel from swaying from side to side (but with enough bikes in the box this is not the case). No problem).
