I could tell from the picture, the color wasn't navy (dark), however, the color matched a secondary color in my dress so I went for it. I purchased them for a wedding as I needed a more comfortable pair of shoes to change into after the ceremony. I think they will do the trick. I haven't had a chance to really break them in so I am hoping the other reviews are accurate as far as comfort goes. I did find it hard to line up the buckle with the strap holes. Otherwise, I think I am happy. I'll know better after wearing them for a few hours.
