I've been using this stuff for as long as I can remember. Excellent for recoloring black leather boots and shoes. Just make sure you use saddle soap or something similar to clean the old polish before applying it or it won't penetrate the leather. And paint liberally. Give the paint enough time to dry. After drying, the surface should be matte. The harder the leather is, the better it can be polished later. Like toe and heel. Always remember to shake well before use. Also, it will stain your hands, so wear rubber gloves when using it.
