Frustrated Car Care

Unfortunately it didn't work as advertised on our four year old couch and chair. After applying it to our furniture with the applicator provided, we now have new areas where the color has been removed/lightened. Think of it as a combination when the applicator and some type of alcohol are used in the product. It smells like window cleaner. Now I need to find another product to fix/cover this new damage. It's best to try on an area that no one will see before tackling the seating areas. Lesson…

Not as advertised best in car care

I bought this product to hide a small scratch on my Louis Vuitton booties but what a disappointment! They claim that "once fully dried, the paint will not rub off and will not accidentally transfer to other items," which is a lie. It's been 2 weeks since I tried to "fix" my shoes and when I wear them they still leave huge marks on my hands, fingers and skin in general. I tried wiping the paint off the shoes, some came off but not all. I'm so upset I ruined my shoes! I have to wear gloves every…

Repainting black leather is best

I've been using this stuff for as long as I can remember. Excellent for recoloring black leather boots and shoes. Just make sure you use saddle soap or something similar to clean the old polish before applying it or it won't penetrate the leather. And paint liberally. Give the paint enough time to dry. After drying, the surface should be matte. The harder the leather is, the better it can be polished later. Like toe and heel. Always remember to shake well before use. Also, it will stain your…

This review is for GRIFFIN Leather Dye Black, 2.5 fl oz. The item arrived on time and is as described by the seller. I used it to dye a pair of dark brown leather shoes black and am completely satisfied with the result. I applied the color twice and let it dry overnight between uses. I used less than half the contents of the bottle to get the result I wanted. The paint is thinner/thinner than I expected and I'm glad I used vinyl gloves and protected the garage work surface with cardboard; This…

I liked this dye but it requires more detailed instructions.

I loved how it made an expensive pair of shoes that looked worn look new again. I have never used leather paint. Other than applying paint I didn't know what to do. The shoes looked dull after drying, so I smeared them with shoe polish. It brought back the shine. After wearing them for a day, when I was changing, I saw black stains in the cuff of my pants. That's when I realized that I probably should have wiped the paint off after it dried instead of polishing the shoes. This is my ignorance…

Saved a pair of brown shoes that were supposed to be thrown away.

I applied brown griffin leather paint to a pair of worn, frayed casual leather shoes that no longer responded properly to shoe polish and looked too ugly to continue using. This leather color is darker than the original color of these particular shoes. Shoe polish should be used after the paint has dried. The result after a few minutes of work was good - if you don't look very closely, the shoes can now be considered lightly worn. Unlike Kiwi's black colorway for the black version of the same…

Just don't push too hard

I needed black shoes for work and sometimes it's difficult to find peep toe sandals that are comfortable for 8 hours of walking. I found the Clarks brand but they were dark brown and I thought I might make them black after using this product. It worked! Very easy to use and no one will notice they're tanned! The only advice I would suggest is if you have open straps like sandals, put newspaper or an old towel in your shoes so the paint doesn't get anywhere if you press too hard. If you press…
