None of this is designed to work with gates for kids or pets.

1. The product description states that racks can be installed 1.5" thick in one place and 2 3/4" thick in the other. The 1.5 inch number is wrong.2. The height of these brackets is about 1.5 inches. The distance between the screws on the mounting brackets of most children's goals is longer than the wood allows. Translation: You will shoot a propeller over and under a mount with lots of baby gates.3. The thickness of the wood that takes the screws from the gate is about 5/8 inch. The screws on each security gate are long enough to go through the bracket and into the wood you are trying to protect.
