Keyboard falls out when case is opened

Somewhat disappointed with this product. I was hoping for the keyboard to be built into the case. Instead, it's more likely to fall out if you're not careful when opening the case. Attached to the body with weak magnets, which I think allows some flexibility in writing orientation, but worries I might spill and break the damn thing. I can say that the case is durable and protects the iPad. I don't think 1 out of 2 is bad.
