I bought this quick release collar for my 100+ lb dog. I keep it in the car with an extra leash in case there is an emergency in the car while driving. For day to day outings I use a regular Herm Sprenger pinch collar without a quick release buckle because I have tried the HS quick release collar before and it kind of came loose on its own and my dog freed itself to chase the cat. Luckily we were close to home and there were no traffic jams. I suspect the collar had a faulty quick release buckle as my husband used the HS quick release collar on my dog's 100lb brother for 2 years.
