Bought this panel due to constant problems with lightning strikes destroying the board on my Mighty Mule. It seems that whenever there was a thunderstorm nearby, the current would somehow affect the wires of my transformer and cause a surge of power that not only destroyed the circuit board but also ripped out the transformer. The last blow even destroyed the cables, which made further charging of the batteries with a voltage of 110 V impossible. Then I was forced to buy a panel for charging the battery. I've had the panel installed for three months now and there wasn't a single system failure before the gate opened. I have a dueling gate system made from the iron pipes of an oil field and I'm going in and out at least seven times a day. I was concerned that the heavy goal would consume so much battery power that charging a 10 watt panel would not be able to handle it and I would have to buy a second panel in addition to the original. So far this hasn't happened and the batteries were charged enough to keep things going. Too bad I didn't install it years ago. I saved a few hundred dollars replacing circuit boards and transformers.
