Review on πŸ”Œ QGOO Adapter - Ac600Mbps Wireless Network for OS10, 6/10/13 by Brandon Mcvey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy installation and high speed

Instead of buying an M.2 adapter card (aka NGFF) and the necessary cabling to connect an external antenna, I bought this USB WiFi adapter instead, and I am quite satisfied with the result. Installation was easy, when the adapter was first plugged in it looked like a hard drive in Windows file explorer, making it easy to access and install the driver built into the device. After installing the driver, WiFi immediately became active and I was able to connect without a screwed-in antenna at a distance of about (also known as the number of bands). Total time was about a minute and didn't require restarting my Windows machine. Network access speed is fast, my internet service at home via cable provider is rated at 50 Mbps and with embedded ethernet computers I can get 50 and sometimes a bit more (54-55) per minute depending on the case. With this Wi-Fi adapter, I was able to go from 46 to 50, which is almost the same speed. It should be noted that the Wi-Fi connection (as tested by fast.com) had lower latency (in terms of buffering ability) than the built-in Ethernet, so it might even be better suited for video chat and interactive use . The same can be felt when surfing the Internet. If I'm paying for faster internet service, this adapter should support higher speeds.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubt
