Review on Enhanced SEO: MOOG RK620065 Control Arm with Ball Joint Assembly by Mario Beckwith

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great article on dampers, struts and suspension

I wrote an LCA review for the other side but I bought one for both sides so I'll check those out too. Jeep Patriot 2009 2.4L 4x4 Sport. Since the ball joint is fairly integrated and I didn't want to buy a press I bought the whole forearm with built in. Removing the old one was easy enough. I simply used a liquid wrench and loosened the bolts. This hand slid and aligned perfectly, but there was a small problem. The vertical bolt isn't aligned because the shoe you're putting it in moves and is off-center. This is, I have to say, a real pain. I've tried everything and searched the internet for things people have done to make it slip (grind a screw all the way, put another screw on top and snap the bottom etc.). What I did was take a large flathead screwdriver, stick it in the top and use a mini slide to align it. Can damage the boot if you are not careful as it is rubber. Installation time 1-2 hours from start to finish. Rather pay 400€ in the store. Works perfectly.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • There are new competitors
