A smooth, even radius of bluish-white light. Great twist off diffuser. Compact size

Read return policy carefully before purchasing, BRITTA restocking fee is 20% ($7) PLUS shipping ($7) It's cooler than I prefer and it's not written in their policies so buyers you can ask before you buy. (or call during business hours) SeaDog Day/Night and Kohree Natural 921 Wedge Base Dual Shade (White Only). I found Britta and Sea Dog to be direct competitors and essentially equivalent. Kohree has a completely different design with two interchangeable 921 LED bases that can be purchased separately. RED LEDs. Britta vs. SeaDogBritta Pros: More efficient use of space at 4.5" diameter, polarized wires (red/black) SMD board mounted 18 white/9 red LEDs give a more even and larger radius of light than 5.75" Seadog. Prismatic diffuser is 0.6" smaller in diameter but more efficient than the SeaDog. Molded plastic base feels slightly thicker and stiffer than the SeaDog. Winner = BrittaBritta Fault: White (bluish) tint. Brightness 120 lumens (white) I have found that I prefer natural white light with 200+ lumens for general purpose dome lighting on my boat. The benefit of less blue light and additional lumens worked better in my situation as an AARP member doing detailed work and reading Long term: I've been using LED lights on my boat for over 20 years They all start to fail before season 3. Some completely but most degrade with a partial loss of the SMD array (LED burnout) None of They also only came close to the 25% hours claimed by the manufacturer. The Britta is above average compared to those I've bought before Well. You can pay five times more, but they all still share the same weakness, which is in the driver circuitry and/or the human fabrication of the IC boards. If you don't mind a slight (but sufficient) bluish brightness, the Britta is a solid choice and will serve you well by saving you a few bucks. 06/10/17 - Update: Britta installed above the table in the saloon on board. Initially both color LED arrays were fully functional and I was very satisfied. My smile must have bewitched him. After a few minutes, the white array began to dim and then played a sequence simulating circular motion around the outer ring of LEDs. Then it stopped. The white array no longer works. The red array continued to function normally. Editing of Britta's return. Another update will be released based on the return/refund experience.
