When my husband broke the glass of our $250 Breville kettle, we didn't want to buy another kettle that expensive, so we settled on Mr. Tea and Coffee Maker. The work was not bad, but after 6 months they occasionally began to fall asleep, ie do not work. The buttons and the trigger seemed to be running out. So we settled on Breville, this time just for the $150 version. After all, how could it be otherwise? What a disappointment. First, the built-in strainer has slits on the sides so huge chunks of the liner fell into our cups when we poured the tea. Second, the lid of the teapot seems to be either permanently on or very difficult to remove, so I just have to reach for the long, narrow teapot with my hand and scoop out the remaining insert with my hand. The temperature was too hot for green tea. So I had to send it back after first use. If it was $40 I might apologize for the lack of quality (although I would return it anyway) but if you love your tea as much as we do, save your $150 and don't buy this poorly designed product.
