Great looks and performance, but clearly poor water quality!

I've only had this item a few days. First let me say that I love the look of this product, it works great. It heats the water to my desired temperature on all the different settings (I've measured). My problem is that I notice small particles floating on the water surface after leaving it in this pot for more than 5 minutes. I'm not sure if it's leftover plastic or something, but it's not unacceptable for my tea or consumption. I've emptied and refilled over 10 times and still see it every…

The best kettle I've ever had!

Has served almost 2 months and I use it every day. I am very happy with this kettle so far. This makes the tea taste so much better than my old teapot. I like glass because you can see water boiling in it. Also makes my loose tea taste much better by heating it on different levels. I did get a few stains on the bottom of the kettle from the water I use, but I found a way on You Tube to easily remove the stains. Fill a saucepan halfway with water and add 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar. With the…

Bad design: kettle

When my husband broke the glass of our $250 Breville kettle, we didn't want to buy another kettle that expensive, so we settled on Mr. Tea and Coffee Maker. The work was not bad, but after 6 months they occasionally began to fall asleep, ie do not work. The buttons and the trigger seemed to be running out. So we settled on Breville, this time just for the $150 version. After all, how could it be otherwise? What a disappointment. First, the built-in strainer has slits on the sides so huge chunks

Five star price for four star build quality

This kettle is probably the best we've had, mainly because plastic-free options are really rare - if you want plastic, free you have to pay. It's a shame that the quality doesn't quite live up to expectations. Yes, the pros outweigh the cons, but it's still not a five. (Why it's so difficult for the industry to deliver reliable, plastic-free kettles under 3 numbers is a topic for another day.) Things in previous reviews still apply. HOWEVER: A nagging quality/design issue with plastic screw…

A wonderful glass teapot with almost no plastic!

I've waited a year to buy this Breville kettle. Mainly because it was expensive and I was concerned about the negative reviews. I've owned it for six months now and feel like I can give a really honest review. I treat my teapot with care and care for it like a beautiful crystal. It didn't disappoint. Often used to heat water. When I'm done with that, I leave the lid on to let it air dry. I like that there is almost no plastic inside. I also like the very large comfortable handle. This unit is a

The best kettle, but has its drawbacks.

I am a tea lover and I love such inventions. PROS: Love the glass, love the temperature settings. It takes a little longer than other kettles to reach the perfect temperature, but it's not all metal and I think it's worth the wait. My wife likes it better than our last kettle that did something like this. If she's happy, then I'm happy. CONS: I have super filtered reverse osmosis water and yet calcium still accumulates at the bottom. I have to put my hand in to clean it and since my cannibal…
