The sound is just a bomb, and I've been using them for two months with the Fiio X1 II player. The only better-performing Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO headphones I own are my other models, which are more expensive. When I was hunting for a player, I unintentionally landed into a review where these headphones were listed along with the aforementioned player, which is how I learned about Koss Porta Pro. Everyone who listened agreed that it had a very admirable sound. I have no idea how long they will survive, but for the time being, I merely use and replace them. The only drawback, which is therefore relative, is that listening in the subway can be difficult. Alternately, you can listen normally, although the level will occasionally need to be adjusted because it will startle nearby individuals. You can typically listen to music at 65 on the player I use in the metro, but I can't even begin to think what others are going through right now.) So take these headphones, and you'll be glad you did! Checked!
