I'm not new to the construction industry. I've been building houses and installing things like this for many years. I couldn't believe how useless the instructions were. Don't think they will help you in any way. Unfortunately, I didn't install this light and fan right away. I've had it for a while. a return is therefore out of the question. Luckily I'm pretty good at flying instead of my pants. I managed to install it. It looks very nice and seems to work well. currently. The console never brought anything. and since bypassing it didn't work, the light would be on all the time. I had to install another pull chain to turn the lights on and off. All in all it took me hours of struggle and backups, trying something different and a trip to the hardware store for another switch to get Lights working. We like the look of this thing in general, but if I had no building experience and didn't have the tools needed to make modifications to make it work, it would have been a disaster. Why not send back? Well it was a birthday present for my wife and I definitely wanted to make it work. Unless you're an electrician or a VERY handy person beyond the average homeowner. Do not attempt to install this lamp yourself. You need a qualified and experienced electrician. who can think mobile and find solutions. rob
