In my case I needed to fit two SSDs into a 3.5" drive bay of a small server. The SATA and power cables are already in place and coming from the RAID controller. Adapter, two SSDs are too close together to use the existing (combo) SATA/Power connectors. In a more typical configuration, where you can use the cables that come with it, this doesn't present a problem. Another problem I encountered was installing two SSDs, and when the entire assembly snapped into the Dell drive carrier, was the beam is uneven due to the bent adapter. With a regular 3.5" drive in the bracket, everything is fine. With this in the holder, it is not straight and will not slip into the compartment. In general, this adapter has its uses and works in some scenarios, but it is not a universal adapter.
