Not universally compatible

In my case I needed to fit two SSDs into a 3.5" drive bay of a small server. The SATA and power cables are already in place and coming from the RAID controller. Adapter, two SSDs are too close together to use the existing (combo) SATA/Power connectors. In a more typical configuration, where you can use the cables that come with it, this doesn't present a problem. Another problem I encountered was installing two SSDs, and when the entire assembly snapped into the Dell drive carrier, was the beam

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Very good floppy drive adapter

The metal feels solid and is of a much higher quality than what is used in a typical PC case. Two 2.5" drives fit in a 3.5" space. This fits nicely in the Dell Optiplex Small Form Factor case. Locking the drives together is very nice and much more convenient than fiddling with tiny screws. It also made it easier to put the drives back into my case, as these small form factor cases shrink tight and there isn't much room for cable management - I was able to leave the drive unlocked in the adapter

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Exterior

Solid build quality, easy installation, no screws required. this. Since the SATA connectors are side by side, the power cables I had in the middle of the cable breakout from my PSU were difficult to install correctly as they have cables going up and down. However, the connector at the end of the power cable breakout is suitable as it is long and fast. I was concerned that I might bend and break the SATA connections on my SSD if I force the power cables. This isn't really a design flaw, but…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Long delivery time

A well designed system for adding SSDs to a 3 1/2 " drive bay.

I have a few of these devices and am always looking for well designed systems that only use my fingers as a tool. SSDs or similarly sized drives just slide into place and eject with a push of a spring-loaded button, which is pretty easy to figure out. I am giving the base design 5 stars and subtracting a star because my particular setup (HP Z210 workstations) requires 90 degree connectors for both the power and data ports. I'm still looking for connectors that will work when the drives are so…

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Security
