I have a Husqvarna 350 chainsaw and this tachometer worked out of the housing that covers the spark plug and air filter. I didn't even have to wrap the wire around the spark plug wire. I noticed one of the reviewers said the same thing, so I gave it a try and was able to see idle and high torque RPMs. I turned on the LED display. to keep it on all the time when tuning/adjusting to make RPMs easier to see. You can turn off this speedometer by pressing the MENU and SET buttons at the same time. Once you see OFF on the display, release the buttons and the tachometer will turn off. This is a great item for me to check my RPM on my chainsaw and properly set the low and high speed screws. The instructions are also clear enough to understand. I'm glad I bought this tachometer, it will be widely used on all my small engines in the future.
