Review on Enhance Your Steering Wheel Control with the PAC SWI-RC Interface SWI-RC-1 by Andrew Aldana

I ordered this unit as "used". I saved about $4 (usually about $28). I was expecting a worn out product. The item came in the original packaging which looked like NEW. The device inside looked practically new, except for a couple of wires that had been severed. instructions sucks. The online instructions are only for Mitsubishi Mirages 2014-2017. I drive 2018. Slightly different wiring than 2017. I installed a non-original KENWOOD HEAD UNIT (HU), model DDX26BT. Below are the detailed installation instructions: This STEERING WHEEL CONTROL (SWC) unit has 2 white connectors. Small and large white connectors. The small plug has a wire with a blue/yellow stripe. This cable connects to your aftermarket HU's blue/yellow striped cable (unless your aftermarket HU has a 3.5mm jack, in which case you simply snap the 3.5mm plug from the SWC on). Take the black wire (ground) from the small connector and connect it to the black wire (ground) of your secondary HU. From the large white connector, take the white wire and connect it to the brown wire in your vehicle's wiring harness. The brown wire is pin #2 of your factory wiring to the factory radio. From the large white connector, take the red wire (power) and connect it to the red (power accessory) on your secondary HU. From the large white connector, take the black wire (ground) and connect it to the black wire (ground) of your secondary HU. Alternatively, the black (ground) wires can be attached to a safe, bare metal area under the dash. There are 2 sets of tiny switches on the SWC. For KENWOOD, set the 1st set of switches as follows: #1: DOWN, #2 - #6 UP. #7 BELOW. #8 UP. On 2nd set of switches: #1 DOWN. #3 UP When you connect the power, the red SWC indicator should be on. STEERING WHEEL CONTROL works great. I didn't have to manually configure or install anything. My steering wheel VOLUME UP/DOWN. The TRACK/SELECT LEFT/RIGHT buttons work. My MODE button selects all different sources such as FM, BT, DVD, USB etc. The PHONE ANSWER KEYS work. I believe this SWC should also work with Mitsubishi Mirage 2019, 2020. Maybe even 2021. Fortunately, my KENWOOD can now be remotely controlled from my steering wheel like a factory HU. This is the cheapest LINK LINK. Buy branded HU and you shouldn't have any problems. Highly recommended.
