I use this chair because I have a standing desk and needed an adjustable and high chair so I don't have to change the orientation of the desk when I want to sit down. I have back pain and sometimes sciatica and this chair has helped me relearn how to sit properly and also allows me to twist back and forth to get up off the table easily. Don't buy a chair with a backrest, it can cause back pain! I use a milk crate to rest my feet on and I bought a cheap ring pillow to sit on when my back hurts. But if my back hurts, it most likely means I've been sitting for too long and need to get up again. This chair is great for ergonomics because you feel when you bend down and it reminds you to sit up straight.
