The little metal plate you stick to your phone doesn't seem to provide enough grip, but you'll be surprised when you first use it. Also, the holder itself is VERY heavy. The main body is a solid block of metal and the magnetic part is on a VERY rigid hinge. The biggest and heaviest phone shouldn't move. Last but not least, and most importantly, the part that attaches to the vent isn't just a couple of pieces of plastic that you have to push into the vent. It actually has a spring-loaded button that you push to open the jaws, and the spring force that clamps the vent is VERY stiff. You also get metal plates if you have multiple phones. Excellent value for money at this.
