Review on Electronic Rainbow FMST 100 Stereo Transmitter by Kevin Greer

The item that has arrived is for the FMST-100D stereo FM transmitter. This extra "D" after 100 indicates a different model than that described and illustrated in the Revain listing. The Electronic Rainbow part number for the FMST-100 kit is 151239. This board was printed with part number 168178. The kit I received arrived with the wrong electronic components. The parts weren't loose, they were all glued to cardboard strips or secured with foam like all the other electronic kits I've assembled, so based on the instructions I assumed the manufacturer had made replacements. Of the "replaced" parts, there should be five capacitors, each 10 microfarads (labeled 10 microfarads). Instead, there were five 4.7 microfarad capacitors. All of the trimmers that were supposed to be in the kit are designed for vertical mounting, but instead three trimmers were in the package for horizontal mounting. The 50k ohm trim pot at least had the correct resistance value, but the other two trim pots are unlabeled so I won't be able to check the resistance values until I get my hands on a multimeter.
