I just moved to a new location and now the ISP is offering speeds in excess of 1Gb/s, but my motherboard still has a 1Gb/s Ethernet port so I decided to upgrade this card buy to take advantage of the offer .here is a new internet speed and it works great! I just installed it and Windows automatically detected and installed the drivers (no need to use the CD that came with it). And now I get the necessary speed! It also protects my desktop in the future, so I'm very happy with it! UPDATE 8/21/2021 Unfortunately, the adapter has started to randomly disconnect from the network. I tested the cable by plugging it into the internal 1Gbps ethernet port and it worked all day with no connection loss. I wanted to get a replacement but the only option I was given was a refund. I will search further.
