When I wanted to pop the hood of my Grand Marquis last year, I had to find a homemade plastic pry bar to pop the hood open. I have to say that the originals lasted thirteen years, which is quite satisfactory. These novelties are very inexpensive and work very well right out of the box. I pull the hood latch and it pops up about two inches, giving me easy access to the safety latch. In fact, if they last five to ten years I will be very happy. It's early days at the moment, but so far they seem to be doing well.
