Unusable, must be bad shielding

Tested recording with cable, only turning on the light in the room produced a loud electrical hum. Tried other cables, no problem. Walked around the house and the buzz was present whenever I passed a device that was currently on and working. The hum was strong enough that any sound from the light passage was unusable. Will ask for a refund.
