Review on Bare Tool Milwaukee 2415-20 12V Cordless Drill by Brent Henderson

A unique tool and not a substitute for a drill or screwdriver

I bought this tool for a specific reason and it works for that. Before you do a right angle exercise, make sure you NEED it. As a drill, it is less ergonomic as it is difficult to push straight down. Your hand tends to touch the cartridge, so wear thick gloves. As a screwdriver or nut, it can get into tight spots (which I needed). It has its uses, but it's not the kind of tool you would normally use. Let us talk about it. What. torque limitation. As far as I know this is just a measurement of the current drawn by the motor. When it exceeds the limit, the power will turn off and the red light will turn on. There is a dial to adjust. Any worse clutch solution and I'm not sure I'll use it. This raises two more questions. This is not a "fuel" tool as it has a brushed rather than brushless motor. Battery life is shorter due to the reduced efficiency of this design. I've read reviews of people complaining about an LED failing. Um folks, that second LED was red for an over-torque event. This is not the second white LED. You get one of those bright enough. Finally, the maximum speed is 800 rpm. The range is not adjustable, only trigger/paddle adjustable. It's a bit slow, but with this engine and gearbox it's the best you could ask for. If you need it, you will understand. Don't buy it if you don't. Right angle drills are a special item. It's ok for light odd jobs to get you out of a joint.
