This was the first time I ordered wood blocks for my children aged 14 and 11 to carve wood. They both enjoyed carving the man and the owl and work on it every day and intend to continue doing it as a hobby. I bought them because I wanted my boys to stay away from all electronics and teach them habits that would bring them closer to natural things. I am very happy with the purchase as the quality of the wood is great for planing and fun stuff. The fact that it is basswood makes it easy to carve and gives the end product a premium look.
