I purchased these socks for myself to give me something warm to go hiking in the cold weather. They keep my feet nice and warm. My only complaint is that they are a little tight around the top. If pulled up they come to the middle of my calf. I am a small woman so if I have an issue I'm sure a man would. I still wear them all the time so I would still recommend them. Just know that they are made small.
