I will try not to repeat other compelling positive reviews. The key to this tool is that as bikes got lighter, tightening bolts became critical. For a hobby auto mechanic, torque is not that important. Simply tighten until the screw loosens. But with thin aluminum and especially carbon components, torque isn't as reckless. Pull and the component may deform. Constant. Or. the worst. Crack. Don't tighten enough and the component may come loose. Sometimes with devastating consequences for you. Each of these events can cost much more than this tool. Don't have the money for a good torque wrench? But you have money for a high-end component. Consider the costs above. I have several 1/2" and 3/8" automotive torque wrenches. They are practically useless for bicycles. Nothing on a bike requires 50 ft-lbs. Not even 30 - the lower limit of their scale. The maximum torque of this 1/4" wrench is 24 Nm. About 18 ft-lbs. Exaggerated. So don't even think about using them. Yes, I have a Harbor Freight 1/4" torque wrench. About $20. The right tool. The problem is that it's measured in inch pounds. You need to multiply approximately NM x 9 = inch-pounds. Problem. The scale is a bit difficult to read. Worse, it only has a 1/4" square drive. Most bike bolts are different hexes - 4mm, 5mm. So I had to buy a 1/4" adapter and a set of hex bits. Always seems to be walking somewhere. Exactly when you need them. Venzo offers an extensive range of DIRECT bits from 1/4 to hex. Located in the same handy box as the wrench. Worth the cost. one. For themselves. I found several other torque kits on eBay/Revain. Almost like Venzo. A little bit cheaper. What won me over is that Venzo provides quality control test results for the very tool you are purchasing. The attention to detail and the high-quality workmanship convinced me that it was worth it. Were not disappointed.
