I actually got it as an experiment to see how well it works. I was so impressed that it became my signature weekend coffee pot. . . I could get a large model and use it for a week sometimes. After adding a glass rod filter (highly recommended), cleaning was very easy, nothing but glass parts. The brewing process is simpler than it sometimes seems. I preheat the water while I grind the beans, then meter the hot water into the lower chamber and set it to low heat. As soon as the upper chamber is placed in the lower chamber the water starts to rise and when I measure the temperature of the water in the upper chamber it is usually around 200 degrees which is exactly where you want it to be. You're getting air/steam from the lower chamber so it looks like it's boiling, but it's actually not that hot. Add the ground coffee, stir to make sure it's moist, then reduce the heat to low and let sit for 3 minutes. Then turn off the heat and allow the coffee to be sucked back in (this takes almost a minute longer). Just remember that the resulting coffee will be very hot.
