But works as described.

. the quality is a bit questionable. It's difficult to connect USB cables from the back as they don't fit well, and the inner sleeve of the connector detached from the pins when I tried to pull the cable out. I managed to glue the sleeve back on and it's still holding. In terms of compatibility, I found an internal card reader that doesn't work with the internal card slot, while the same card reader works fine with the motherboard slot. inexplicably. I ended up using the internal card slot from another USB 3 device and it seems to work fine. Summary: I bought this because I wanted an internal connector that didn't require additional power - this card ticks both the boxes so I'm keeping it, but the quality could be improved.

Pros
  • 2. Built-in FebSmart self-powered technology. Users don't need to connect extra power cable from the power adapter and get a max 5V/12A for high power devices (NOT support fast charging) such as HDD/SSD enclosure, VR sensor, etc.
Cons
  • Weight
