I was very skeptical at first because my 3 year old Maltese barked at everything that passed our garden, even leaves, it was driving us crazy. I had to adjust the collar to the tightest position and trim off the excess and that was fine. So I put a bark collar on him and let him get used to it and as soon as he started barking he stopped and couldn't understand why he kept barking and lay down. At the same time I tried to tell him to stop barking and removed the collar as soon as he calmed down. Well, in a few days, if I just show him the collar, he'll lie down and my verbal command is all I have to do. Very successful with it and it's sooooo nice that he only barks when he's supposed to.
