While I'm not thrilled that I could lose more than $50 on a single brace, these are worth the money. I had to buy this strut because the front tow hooks on my 2000 F-250 are completely useless until you buy one! The first time I hooked up a 30ft belt to my 6,500lb Superduty that was attached to a 6,000lb trailer with a 5,500lb load on the trailer, so 19,000lbs on soft ground with one gentle incline and a friend's 1-ton truck at the other end of the 30-foot belt. With both trucks, the entire load went up the mountain without destroying the yard. I only heard about Bubba Rope on the internet and in magazines. Having used one I would recommend it to anyone and as a recreational 4x4 and 4x4 I am VERY picky about my tools, THIS tool passes the test. In the second situation I also used it to attach a winch to the front of my truck. I got stuck in the mud along the axis and had to call a friend with a big winch. Again, I hooked this to the front tow hook, rotated the bail so the scuff guard was facing out, hooked the winch cable to the guard, and towed my truck up the hill with no problem.
