Bought this muffler to replace my Magnaflow system. The Magnaflow was so loud I had to add a resonator and even then there was a constant buzz in the cabin. I bought a Walker Quiet Flow muffler and link pipe from the back of the cat for about $105 compared to the $350 I paid for the Magnaflow system. It was a simple screw assembly using normal tools. When I started the car I was surprised at how quiet it was. I took it for a test drive, opened it up and while it sounded ok I was a bit disappointed that I lost the powerful Magnaflow Performance sound under hard acceleration. Then I remembered I had removed my Volant cold air intake system and reinstalled the original airbox to make the car quieter. I switched it back to valance once - WOW what a difference. The PT roars under hard acceleration, but is at least as quiet, if not quieter, than the stock engine under normal driving, even at 80 mph. I also think, although not yet confirmed, that my gas mileage has improved somewhat. Yes, another reviewer correctly pointed out that these are bent tubing and not a mandrel. I don't think it matters for this engine size, my car still flies (for a PT with a few power mods). Also, have you ever looked into the resonator? They are significantly heavier than pinch bends. Anyway, it works great for me.
