I am new to Cricut and bought these mats to make cards. Whenever I make a card with a straight slot, it gets cut too close to the edge, leaving the slot open and unusable. I thought maybe I didn't position the card correctly on the mat, but I clearly placed it directly on the mat. And again the same result. Interestingly, the mat works well when I make a card with a rounded liner slot. I bought a Cricut card mat and had no problems with the straight insertion slot. It didn't cut too close to the edge, so I have to conclude that the Xinart mat came loose a bit for some reason. It works great, as I mentioned above, for cards with a curved slot. The cards can be easily removed from the mat.
