Review on ๐Ÿฆ Enhanced Clean Water Silo Waterer for Birds by Pet Company - A Must-Have Bird Accessory! by Joyce Brown

Promotes bacterial growth, difficult to clean thoroughly

I used to have one of these for my cockatiel and because it was so difficult to clean thoroughly I thought I would never buy it again. Stainless steel bowls or glass water bottles (similar to hamster bottles) are always the best options for bird baths whenever possible. Recently my parrot broke his leg and I suddenly needed a container of water that he wouldn't risk falling into. I didn't want to get the water bottles mentioned above because he had never tried one before and due to injuries and stress it wasn't the time to carefully introduce one to him. This water tank turned out to be the best short-term option. Getting out of the cage hurts a bit, but not that bad. In fact, the cleaning is the worst. There's just no way even a (clean, unused) toothbrush can thoroughly penetrate all those little crevices and crevices. Plastic water containers are more porous than stainless steel or glass and therefore contain and encourage the growth of bacteria. Also, my parrot isn't very fond of chewing, but my cockatiel bit his nose a little. I would never put him in a cage for a bird bigger than a cockatiel - they might not even put their beaks in, and their more powerful beaks quickly get through with plastic if they decide to chew it.
